Antihero

Antihero is a fast-paced strategy game about running a thieves' guild. Tim Conkling had this vision to work on antihero game and we went through stages of different character style to reach to this visual. we tried a realistic visual style, more realistic SD, and more. Later he brought up his initial desire to apply art style of Edward Gorey and 'Don't Starve' game. I tried simplified versions of them, and we landed on this style. I worked on early art direction and took time off then joined back to finish UI/UX, art assets, promotional art and more. I had a great pleasure to work with Tim, especially how he is understanding of the importance of art and integrate art into games properly. 

Antihero was the game of the day at App Store, available on Steam, and received many great recognitions such as Indie Mega booth, PAX, Google Play Indie Festival, IGF 2016, Whippering Indie Cup and more.

OVERVIEW
Antihero is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Tim Conkling and published by Versus Evil. Antihero is released on Steam and iOS devices.

ROLE
I was a product designer and artist who led and developed all interfaces and art styles of this unique game.

METHODS
- Played a key role in the designing and development of products from early concept 
sketch to full UX/UI design. Designed logos, graphics, and promotional materials.
- Offered guidelines to keep the consistency of the interface throughout the app's visual 
assets and PC versions.
- Consulted clients on design requirements (concept style of character and world) and represented their identity and uniqueness, while creating visual guide for game. 
- Antihero was nominated many awards including Google Play Indie Festival and PAX East.
